A strangely warm night which then went on to be windy with heavy rain...and it carried on raining steadily....
I had brought my travelling patchwork sewing box with me, so a morning's sewing saw another strip finished.
It carried on raining through our early lunch and as we made our way to Stornoway.
We had half an hour to spare so had a quiche look at the museum in Lews Castle.
There was a fascinating display about all aspects of the community in Carloway, the northern end of the Island of Lewis.
Including a beautiful basket
Then to the bowling club for an afternoon of short mat bowls...a few good shots and quite a few more failures...but all good fun and good company... before heading home in sunshine!
Families were out guising for Halloween as we arrived..a sensible idea..better than after dark in a rural area! And they were having just as much fun!!
We watched cycling on YouTube all evening, with our supper...cyclo cross, then track racing, the second day of the London 3 day.
And I read a whole book....by Michael Hutchinson about his hour record attempt and the history of the hour record..
Good to get back to reading...and I have limited room in my bag for any borrowed books!

You must get a tremendous amount of rain each year, We average 12 in per year including snow.
Reading is a good activity when it's cold and rainy outside.
Your weather is like ours. Four seasons in one day
Good idea to take some sewing. Keeps the hands busy
The rain didn't dampen your enjoyment of the day.
A whole book read in one go! It must have been very good.
Average rainfall where I am near Stornoway is 50” pa, over 200 days pa...in Ayrshire the figures are 40" and 160 days..but we have had over twice as much as usual this year!
Very well written
This time of year is a good time to get back into reading.
It sounds like you're having a lovely holiday! I'd like to see the cycling. And love city museums.
Sewing, reading, bowling, amazing sights--and friends! This looks like an excellent get-away.
Plenty of cycling on YouTube!
