Glasgow, Sauchiehall Street

The clock by Buchanan Street bus station...always running!

Then going up Sauchiehall Street...

The street itself is having new paviours set in....

But how many people look UP?!!!!

The Willow tearooms, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, now restored

The building in front of the old art school....you can see that some of the fancy buildings were not so fancy underneath!

And the old Glasgow Art School building...still under wraps after the two fires.

Take a closer look....

Then Art Déco with a wow!!

And onto Argyle Street

The old hospital..now flats I think

And co-existence..as it should be...

Real...and plastic...

That is something I really loved about the UK...the old nestled into the new. You don't often see that in my area. There is a snooty insistence that new buildings must fit in to the old setting, as if one does a disservice to the other, instead of a simple acknowledgement that time passes, and things change, and it is just the way of it.
