Goodbye Whanganui...just for now....

We managed to get three groups of friends together...some hadn't seen each other for a while...and others made new friends!....we booked a table for eighteen!!

A wonderful sunset...which of course doesn't come out properly...but you get the idea!

Then this morning a quick look at the Searjeant Gallery on the Quay as one exhibition was being cleared... mostly local work, a brilliant selection.

And some pavement art..

First saying cheerio to our hosts

And on the road to Bulls for fuel...

Then Pirate got the camera in Levin..

Before we hit the new expressway...which in parts has a cycle lane on the hard shoulder!!

And now we are in Waikanae, having a rest before tomorrow's ferry

A table for 18! I don't think I've ever sat at a table with that many other people!

Mo-bull. *snort*~

There is a state park we enjoy very much called Letchworth. It has miles of hiking trails, and it really is beautiful. They have a high railroad trestle. A tenant's won works on the railroad, and makes that passing regularly. He told us that there is a protocol. When the train goes over the bridge, all the employees are instructed to go to the window and wave to the people below.

I love that, the idea of doing something for no other reason that to make onlookers happy.

What a wonderful trip you've had! I've enjoyed tagging along!
