If you click to enlarge the picture you'll see the large hole at the centre of the bridge- the water was over that during the last big floods, and on both approaches to the bridge there are several tunnels underneath for floodwaters.



The fields around here are "Glebelands", a natural floodplain and therefore very fertile
The large holes in the old riverbank are sand marten nests, the small ones where woodpeckers forage for insects
the local swan family....at a distance!!

the old river bed. In 1959 the river moved about 100 yards Westwards. As the property boundary is the river, one landowner profited!

I went on a day out looking at other galleries today, as it was the last day of Herefordshire Art week.
I saw the sign above...

and a very nice (expensive!!) shop, which is worth seeing if only for the buildings.

Hereford was visited too, and Wobage on the way back to the Court Cupboard.

Unfortunately only the jewellery sold today in the pop up shop, (but good for them!) but I think more people know about us and where we are, so that is good.

pop up shop!

The Court Cupboard has a pop up shop in Abergavenny this weekend, opposite one of the main banks.
I'll be helping to man it today, leaving home any minute to be there by 8am...it is the Abergavenny Food Festival, the town will be busy, hope we will too!!

I haven't stopped this week so far!
I've started doing Light Gardening for Money!!! Getting paid what you like doing somewhere nice!
Just one day a week so far, I think two would be enough to bring in money and not take too much of my time.
I collected my new specs-now I can keep them for "best"!!, fired a bisque kiln, did a day in the gallery, AND have fitted in doing my own gardening without overdoing things.

Tomorrow I'll collect my work from Craft in the Bay as the Summer Show finished ten days ago.
I think I have sold something, but their email has gone astray-something to look forward to discovering!! Then I can sort what will go to the Pop up Shop in Abergavenny this weekend- Court Cupboard, that is the Black Mountain Circle are running and stocking it, as it is the food festival time!
Lets hope the weather stays fine- we've had quite a mixture this week!! A bit of everything!
