cake!

A little late perhaps, but today I have made two Black Buns!
Like a very fruity dark christmas cake. Just that it comes in a pastry case, and is for the New Year!!

That made the kitchen nice and warm for few hours, just the thing that was needed after a chilly farmers' mart. Sales were not brilliant, but at least costs were covered. I need to make four times as much sales to make a living.

I tried to add pictures to the laptop computer, but unfortunately I can't remember how!! This is not on Linux, and I find it difficult to use. I can't remember the sequences. I need an idiot proof set of instructions!! So unfortunately, no pictures yet.

Never heard of Black Buns before - so would be interested to see pictures if you do manage it! They sound delicious! Fruit cake AND pastry - what's not to like!

As a Scot, I'll just say, enjoy those Black Buns - excellent choice! At least costs were covered at Usk. Good luck for the new year and have a good Xmas. In Sweden, they go overboard at Jul/Xmas and the Solstice is, of course, very important, marking a crucial turning point in the year.

Baking is a good thing to do at this time of year. I am all for anything that warms the place up, it is a definite bonus.

The other day I bought a small hot cooked chicken in waitrose for the sole reason that I was so freezing cold. I carried it round for the next half hour like a hot water bottle! And yes, now it's chicken sandwiches and chicken soup....

;)
