mediaeval house, rebuilt

This is the latest addition to the museum at St Ffagan, a mediaeval house from the quay at Haverfordwest  in Pembrokeshire.

For those who can access I player, there is a programme about it...
Brick by Bricjk   (that should read Brick by Brick!!)

It looks lovely. Well worth the effort. Reminds me a bit of Dylan Thomas's place/boathouse down at Laugharne. although now a displaced building, I suppose, it does look right in this setting!

My first thought has to be, why didn't they leave it where is was? Was Tesco going to build over it?

That looks wonderful - must get to see it sometime.

Cro, it was rescued from the original site thirty years ago. Can you get i-player? I think you can if you can make it think that your isp is in the uk...there is a website saying how, and I believe that it is free, but I don't know the address of it.

Generally things end up there when they are in danger of dereliction/demolition.
There are other qualifying factors, such as being a rare example. Also it is difficult to use something that is mid terrace!!

I watched the programme on the reconstructing of this gorgeous little building and I was very impressed with how it was done, the history and just the sheer beauty and functionality of it :)
