Today I was feeling a bit tired..after two days of exertion!
Another bus day was planned..off on the 9am bus going East this time to Cumnock then south to Sanquhar...the name a corruption of Sean...old...and Caer....fort...
And there is one there, apparently investigated.
I had a wander while waiting....
Then we met, Yamini and friend who is with her to go geocaching (ummm...sorry I have forgotten your name!!.. visual memory..)
The coffee was as good as it ever was in A' the Airts...and the art and local work especially the Sanquhar traditional knitting.
It has expanded greatly since we were there...at least eight years ago....the cafe is much bigger, with a deck outside and artists studios and community areas upstairs
There is a Sanquhar history trail, but after a good early lunch in the cafe we wondered down the street and back while waiting for the Tollbooth lunchtime to finish.

There was also interesting door furniture and suchlike...

We need a rest after that!..and a hot chocolate... before the café shut at 3 and I went to wait for the bus... better early than late!!... especially as the next one was in two hours time....and would get to Cumnock at a time when buses would be far and few between...

Oh I envy you living in a country full of history.
We are a young country, well the white part is anyway. So history is hard to find.
There are pockets but not down every street like all the countries in Europe and the UK just to name a few

That's great to have met a fellow blogger. I have one who lives within maybe 30 miles of me, who I've lunched with twice! Another closer one hasn't responded to my request to meet...he's busy with teaching and a domestic life as well as doing great blog researches. Loved all the detailed photos you took! My fav is that window that's so narrow I wonder how they clean it!

How beautiful to meet someone you communicate with in a way (bloggers) and exchange opinions in a traditional cafe that also has an artist loft..
Susan we have the Saltire Card, which gives free bus travel in Scotland...and as far as Carlisle in England on the West Coast..not sure about the East, and also some other travelling benefits depending upon which county you live in.
