day at Hay

A lovely day, good journey both ways....but I don't think two small bowls and a small sheep justified it.
Loss £10, wages Nil.

The recession hits another good date. The town was fairly busy from lunchtime on, but had been full for the previous two days....in previous years everyone did well on this date, which is why I was asked to come on this day.

It was a beautiful day, however, and the Butter Market lived up to its purpose and kept us as cool as butter and cheese should be- we took turns in having a walk in the sun to warm up! It is looking good as its ceiling has been mended and cleaned.

Now to carry on building up stock for this time next month, back in Hay during the Festival

Sorry to hear you had a poor day at Hay. Hopefully it will be better during the Festival, which certainly pulls in the crowds. At least the weather appears to have been favourable for you, although the drive back must have been a bit tedious - it's not the easiest or most straight-forward of runs, as I seem to recall from weary experience!

ahhhhhh and so it goes on both sides of the pond......

making tiles for my hearth although really should be making inventory.

we live at the top of hill and presently the valley is flooded, enjoy the sun on your face and a warm wall on your back :)

I've changed my route, from Ebbw Vale and Llangynidr Mountain and past Llangoorse Lake, to going up past Abertillery and down to Gilwern and over to Crickhowell then over Cwm Du.

Less strain on the car, although five miles more each way.
