kiln packed and waiting

Ready to fire a bisque. Disappointingly I haven't enough for two, as was the aim, but at least work is drying fast enough now.

Doctor's surgery first thing today, confirming that the lurgy has developed a secondary infection .
Bleeurgh indeed. Now on antibiotics, which I don't like but needs must.

So today has been taken at a gentle pace.

I added the side handle knobs to the shaving mugs before a little light gardening- the rasberry canes have been tidied and tied into the wires. They do catch the wind, but it also means that I can walk past them without fear of attack! These varieties are very prickly!!

Mountain Man is still digging, despite his back aching-his concession is at least to do less! There isn't a lot more needing to be dug, thankfully!

In the afternoon I finished packing the kiln and cleaned up the wareboards ready for the next throwing session. There are plans afoot for the end of May and I'll need more stock.

The weather was still bright and sunny, the clouds now moving faster in the breeze. It has been about ten degrees cooler than yesterday!! Hopefully we will have rain overnight as my garden needs it!

Fresh foods that contain B-vitamins and C, and some easily digestible protein such as chicken (the fabled chicken soup) would be in order to help you fight off the dreaded lurgy. Do be sure to check your antibiotics to see if it is to be taken with/without food. The more religious you can be about taking the antibiotic, the better. The key is to keep your blood levels of the antibiotic as constant as possible. I transcribe doctor's dictation for a living, and this point is stressed repeatedly.

WOL, Thankyou. Fresh fruit and veg being consumed, although being a 3rd generation vegetarian I will forgo the chicken soup! Lentil soup will be good-plenty of B vitamins there, and other good things from the onions.

Never a dull moment down there :-). Never a spare moment either by the sound of it.

I'm sure many would baulk at the suggestion, but can I suggest a nice bottle of plonk, feet up and take it easy for a few days? Take care. And keep them Rasps under control!

I seem to never ever had have spare moments. Guilty conscience? I suppose you'd understand more if you really knew my mother....
When you're busy you make time I suppose.
Could be why the Carpenter wanted me to go to the cycle polo meeting....
I'll do a post when I can get on the other computer!
