The mouse reminds me of my childhood. Our village church had pews made by Robert Thompson, the Mouseman of Kilburn.
Kilburn is a little village, nestling under the gread ridge that climbs toward the north york moors. Above the village, on the hillside, is the White Horse of Kilburn.
"Mousey" Thompson took the church-mouse as his emblem, industrious, always nibbling away, yet seldom seen. Every piece of furniture he made had, somewhere upon it, a little carved mouse.
Is the pot a cheese-bell?

Hello soub, nice to read you again!
I saw something by Robert thompson when I visited Pickering ages ago.
Beautiful work. I'll have to look at pictures of it now!

The pot couild be a small cheese bell or a butter dish. I've made both this time, but I'm happier with this pot and this mouse.

How interesting that you should choose to show a mouse. We just discovered we have one (or more) in the house. The little devil(s) have chewed my sofa covers and left tiny poo-poos everywhere. I have just set up some humane traps, so I can relocate them to the fields!
I prefer yours LOL

Interesting idea, yarn bowls. I can see them being popular. Do you sit them on a table beside you when you use them?

Love the mouse pot! Can you show it when it's glazed? I didn't know what the 3rd photo was but then I see in the comment that they are yarn bowls. How clever~I thought they were rice bowls to rest your chopsticks in the grooves. Lovely.

WOL, I'm not sure, but I think it would depend on where you were sitting to knit, and the size of the yarn bowl
I used to use a saltglaze storage jar and put it on the floor!

Like the others, I, too, like the mouse bowl. Really nice work. I'm afraid it might confuse Charlie, though. He's pretty easily confused, truth be told!

Here's a thought -- a nice ornamental sort of "objet d'art" kind of spherical shaped pot, nicely decorated and glazed, with lid (possibly animal ornamented handle on) and a narrow yarn "comma" in the side. When you weren't using it for yarn minding purposes, you could just leave it out ("comma" turned toward the wall)as a decorative object.

Hi gz!
I left a comment over at my blog but popped over here to repeat it
Thank you so much for making my mouse pottery. It is perfect, just perfect for my French house
