catching the sun

Every chance we have, we're out in the sun/daylight...we need our Vitamin D to survive the Winter!

The weather is going through a wet and windy spell now.

We're building up a stock of firewood, as The Pirate wont be able to use a chainsaw or split wood for a good while this winter.  I can split wood, but I feel daunted by the thought of wielding a chainsaw!!.
Central heating is fine, but the stove in our living room brings it to life.

It also boils water nicely for the evening cuppa!!

Nothing can beat a roaring log fire. We sorted our wood yesterday in readiness.

There is nothing like the warmth of a wood stove. When I was younger I used a chainsaw, but as I have aged I have become fearful of them.

What lovely photos.
I have a stove like that - it can do soup and toast and boiled eggs too!
All good wishes to you and the Pirate.

I miss a wood stove. We didn't put one in this house when we built it because it's such a little house that we had no room for it and the heat would have driven us out of here. In California it's the summers we have to worry about. We NEED air conditioning. Heat is never much of an issue. But... I miss our little Lopi with the glass windows and the smell of wood burning.
Love the photos.

There is a special warmth from a wood burner, think the crackly orange glow helps too
