delivered..

This morning was spent testing the new washing machine-apparently working, but the inside needs a little cleaning- and more cutting wood and re-arranging Stuff!!

Consequently there was time for choosing New Pyjamas, but none for The Haircut..that can wait a week!
The Pirate was delivered to hospital on time at 2.30, luckily I stayed with him as when we arrived at his room we were then left there for an hour and a half!  Time for us to chat as the staff were busy.
At 5.30 all his paperwork was done and his supper arrived.  Time to say goodbye for a while and leave him to it.  He is the first on the surgeon's list tomorrow, so that is good.   It is just a routine op,  but it feels strange to be back here alone.

I've had a fire in the stove, eaten supper, phoned my daughter AND cooked up Crabapples and some Hawthorn  berries to make jelly then "cheese".

Texting to one of our friends, who is a sports therapist.   All the work over the years has taken its toll of her hands especially.  She has been waiting for many months on end to see a specialist, has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis...and has just had her initial appointment date for the beginning of December.     This is for a working person in her 50s.......

I'm glad we live where we do.  We're glad the Pirate just has a small, curable, problem instead of being incapacitated.   There is always someone worse off than onesself.

That's what my mother said whenever she visited us in a hospital. Look around; everyone is much worse off.

All the best to both of you.

A routine op can only happen to someone else.
