time flies!

Three weeks to get all the pots ready...help!!

The first bisque firing went well today, but turning pots didn't. I turned through the bottom of a bowl, and the platters were not deep enough to have holes for hanging drilled in the feet.

Six vases have been fitted with handles, and one has a small dragon. The salt pots are all done too, two with loop handles and two with a chicken each.

I did a little light clearing and hoeing on the allotment and lifted the last of the parsnips. It was nice to be out in beautiful Spring weather, but I'm not feeling springlike, just rather lonely and a bit tired.

Sorry, I should do some back reading of your blog - but what is it you are getting all the pots ready for? Are you doing a show?

The air smelt wonderful here today, the damp richness of the soil was heavy in the air as the sun rose, that is the first time I have noticed it this year. I suppose we will pay for this lovely weather, but it's nice while it lasts. I hope you had now found time to make a pot of tea and put your feet up.

Lovely day here yesterday (Sun). Me too, I'm casting an eye at Haddock's (my veg garden), and another at the rotovator. I think towards the end of the week I'll give it it's first bit of proper attention of 2012.

it's that time of the year, the Dead Zone, between winter and spring

I light lots of candles and a nice fire and sit and watch flames flickering all round me

that beats the blues

take heart, soon be spring

Sorry your feelin' a bit lonely Gwynneth. Gets a bit like that when it's cold up on an allotment though.

Yes, time flies and that means Summer is on the way soon. :-)

Thanks all.
Just the time of year when we got to do more together after the Winter and plan the season's growing and walk the mountain more...
