This morning the workshop in Abergavenny was too cold and the garden too- so I had alternative work- house cleaning! It is much more satisfying cleaning other people's homes...one is appreciated!!
By lunchtime the sun was out and after lunch I turned the boardful of mugs and added the handles too. The sky clouded over again and although the forecast was not for frost it was feeling very like it as dusk approached. I covered the work with plastic and a towel...and we'll keep hoping!!.
The shape is going well, the handles improving slowly. We're thinking now that we should be producing these in porcelain and aiming more up-market. Those already made wont go to waste and have been instrumental in my getting used to a new shape, different handles and a different wheel.
We have been discussing glazing, now some have been bisque fired and we can move forward towards some finished work.

when i was living up north i used to have deal with the fear of pots freezing overnight. i am glad that worry is gone!
funny you mention porcelain. i have been thinking of it a lot lately. i haven't bought any since my move south.
i think it is time!

Sigh .... I wish I could pay AND APPRECIATE someone else to sort through the mess of my home. Unfortunately, that someone will have to be me. I think the mess is a true reflection of the rather scattered state I've been in for the last few months. I'm hoping, at least, to take the Christmas tree down before Valentine's Day! Wish me luck.

I look forward to seeing the new pots. Most of what we buy is hand made, Our roof tiles and floor tiles were all made locally, dining plates were ordered from Biot in Provence, the pinnacles on the 'tower' from another local potter, etc. A pity we don't live closer.
RDG I have been in a scattered state for years! We were beginning to see progress before The Oily One moved back in...and before The Carpenter was laid off...two steps forward, one step back at least each time.
Cro, good for you. We just wish that we didn't HAVE to push to go upmarket to get reasonable sales.
I've had sales to mainland Europe where it has been sent to someone in the UK who is then visiting the final destination of the pot....
