I need to return when it isn't quite so busy...there is a daily organ recital and I arrived just after that had finished.
Last time I visited I saw the gallery with the Glasgow Boys..I found the Colourists this time, but couldn't concentrate on it.
There is much of Glasgow's history in the exhibits, but also a fair bit of Empire ..but then that did build and develop Glasgow into the city it us with the multicultural, multifaceted population that it has had for centuries.

What a marvelous museum! I was amused by the hanging faces (Talking Heads?) but I imagine you were most drawn to the pottery. Beautiful building, though.

This looks like a grand museum. The building architecture is beautiful. The rooms, halls, tile flooring and lovely arches provide so much interest. The exhibits look terrific. What are the floating heads about?

Fascinating! I wonder if Cyprus has called for the return of its plundered ceramics? I love those heads suspended from the ceiling. Very cool.
Looking at your interesting pictures I realised it's decades since I've visited Kelvingrove, so it's gone on my mental list if I find myself near Glasgow. What a splendid place, and I do remember the floors, which reminded me of a quilt my friend had made. They would make a nice quilt design, wouldn't they? I do find those heads a bit worrying though. I think there may be a slight fashion in museums for groups of heads. After the national Portrait Gallery reopened (well worth a visit btw) I saw a group of busts and sculptured heads near the main entrance. It could have been a temporary exhibition and to be honest if anywhere can have a group of heads the NPG ought to be able to... but still.... I found them a bit creepy and gave them a wide berth! :)
