Throwing out worn out clothes...his and mine.... sorting which ones I will wear..and filling the bag with those to go to an op shop (charity).
I will probably get these to Shelter.
Pirate's justgiving page, raised £825, plus the leftover traybakes were sold in the village café and raised £30. Making a total of £855 for Macmillan cancer nurse charity.
Outdoor sorting in the afternoon...tidying the bottom of the garden .
And finding a garden assistant
I found that either the padlock key is missing..or that the internal mechanism isn't working properly with the key that I am sure is the correct one. This is the padlock to the gas bottle cage...at least I do have time to sort the problem, but one I could do without.
I planned a walk after early supper...but...
They do say that a British summer is two hot days and a thunderstorm....
I have stopped watching live TV. Thanks to brother I have changed to using my television as a monitor...so that I can relax with programmes that I want to see, when I want to see them.
I like archaeology..and history...and nature...and proper discussion....and canals!!
It also saves me nearly £180 per year...you can't fault that either..and from the news on the radio yesterday it sounds as if a lot of people are doing the same.
And just adding this view....after the thunderstorm...

Your garden assistant is a handsome chap!
What a lovely brother to help you with the television. Always good to save a few dollars as well
I really need to sort my clothes. I keep putting it off as it’s a massive job and right now I just don’t have the energy.
He is too JayCee...we have toads in the undergrowth as well. No hedgehogs as far as I know though
Do the job bit by bit....socks one day....knickers the next.....do the job in small bites so that you finish one before starting the next small section 🙂
Always get a boost when a toad or frog comes to visit.
You have been busy (as always). I agree with doing the sorting bit by bit. Much easier and you get some incentive in finishing one part before starting the next.
Great to see the after the storm sky photo...as well as Mr. Helper to eat the bugs. At least he doesn't eat the buds. Glad to hear about TV...I just cut 87 off my monthly bill, and will have to look at things on computer too. I was spoiled by setting recording times and then looking at the news when I had time, rather than actually seeing it live. May miss some things, but they'll be repeated if important. No more Jeopardy though. It's not worth that much to me though.
That is a good size frog and where there is one there are usually many more. Your garden has a great ecosystem. After a clear-out, newly organized closets and drawers feel spacious. Your new TV system sounds perfect.
That's a very angry looking sky in the last photo.
TV licence ditched over twenty years ago now, very little I miss. It's not the cost i object to, there was very rarely anything I/we wanted to watch. Much prefer Youtube these days :)
Someone unexpectedly gave me a can of spray which would fix your padlock yesterday. I would give it straight to you if I could.
Thankyou for the good thought Tom. I sprayed it yesterday but I fear that yesterday's heavy rain will have washed it out again!
It moved a little....I will get something stronger on it!
Does your garden assistant have a pond?
We don't watch live TV anymore either, but we still get a TV license as we watch the BBC streaming service online. I do like having more control over what we watch at any given time.
Not in our garden...I am not sure where the nearest pond is!
I stopped live TV (mostly) too-- no cable anymore -- and it's great to stream. It's nice to pick and choose.
