The end of the Lang Mile

Continued....the end of the Lang Scots Mile is by the Citadels... Oliver Cromwell's construction...and the sports centre with swimming pool built by it on the site of the old fishmarket on the southern quayside of the river Ayr.

Ayr is still a working port and harbour, to boats. Not all commercial

Then looking at towers from there into the town centre..

Topped by the obligatory gull!

Growing up I was told that legend says that if ever a redheaded woman walked under the tower it would fall on them. I was blond but didn't risk it.

I like the towers. So much more interesting to look at than just a boring old wall!

Looks like a scenic journey! Yes, the obligatory gull -- or pigeon, if you're here in London.

Our blackberries are quite sharp-tasting too. I think it hasn't been consistently warm enough to make them really sweet. (But they're not bad and I eat 'em!)

UK houses are so different to what I've only ever seen. But I'm wondering if the ones in your photos have good views over anything, like water.

Aimz yes. These would have good views as do the ones along the harbour end of the road along the front. I would not like to live there though...no garden!!

You are impressively busy. Interesting photos - I don't know that part of Scotland at all, really.

What a quaint collection of buildings, each with character to spare!
